Journalist of the TV channel "Sama TV", based in the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic - Damascus, is on a two-day visit to the Republic of Abkhazia, at the invitation of the CCI of RA.

The journalist has interviewed the President of the Republic of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba and Prime Minister Gennady Gagulia.

Mohammed Feras al Mardini is a member of the Association of Reporters at the UN in Geneva since 2014, a correspondent in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2013 and is also a correspondent in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2017. He participated in international conferences, the most important of which is the Geneva conference on the Syrian crisis.

It is important to mention that the Mohammed Feras al Mardini had previously visited the Republic of Abkhazia as part of the  delegation of the Arab Republic of Syria in late September - early October 2017.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of RA is sure that the coverage of the situation in Abkhazia will contribute to the strengthening and development of relations between the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic.

29 May 2018, the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic announced the mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries at the embassy level.
