Dictionary begins with a description of the uniqueness of the Abkhaz language. It includes the most frequently used words and phrases. The publication presents a summary of Abkhazia (location, area, population), described poetry of the Abkhazian people. Particular attention is paid to the bright political activity of the First President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba, the War of Abkhazia, recognition of the independence of Abkhazia by the Russian Federation in 2008. 

 

According to the authors, two people can come closer if show interest in each other's language, as the language is a reflection of the culture and soul. 

 

When compiling the dictionary, Malherbe and his assistants (Maria Kaltenbach-Shevtsova and Eric Kaltenbach), in addition to internet sources used scientific works of Vyacheslav Chirikba. 

 

The President of Abkhazia Raul Khadjimba was gifted the book by the authors with the words: "This small book exists for tomorrow's Abkhazian traveler in France, or a French tourist stepping in the footsteps of Dubois de Monpore in Abkhazia saying "Mshabzia" and hear the answer - "Bienvenue".
