Today in  capital of Greece - Athens - International Tourist Exhibition opened «GREEK TOURISM EXPO», organized by «Leaderexpo», with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Shipping of Greese. It is attended by more than 120 travel agencies and representatives (hosted bayers) from the USA, Turkey, Russia and some European countries and the Balkans, is directly involved in the tourism business and the conclusion of agreements in this area.

Republic of Abkhazia is represented by Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the exhibition.

"For the first time after the recognition of our republic we are participating in the exhibition in Greece. It is a friendly country for us, including because in Abkhazia always lived and still live the representatives of Greek nationality. Moreover, if we look at history, it is the Greeks once established Sebastopolis, Pitius and Dioscurias. Therefore, we gladly accepted the invitation to take part in the exhibition. We just could not miss another chance to present Abkhazia at the global level ", - said the President of Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Gaguliya.

From the first minutes of the opening of the exhibition colorfully decorated Abkhaz pavilion at the stands which are displayed the name of our state map, state flag, the beauty of our country, the image of the historical and contemporary life - attracted a lot of visitors. People do not just ask what our country is interesting for tourists, but also with a great pleasure try Abkhazian wine, vodka, smoked meat and cheese, different varieties of nuts, adzhandzhuha, dried persimmons, honey, adjika. Visitors were interested in various souvenirs - decorative plates, clay pots, magnets, also various printed materials as brochures in three languages, including Greek (CCI published it especially for the exhibition), magazines, postcards. A particular success enjoyed employees of CCI - Inara Daurova, Tamila Mertskhulava and Maria Katsuba in national Abkhaz dresses: visitors asked permission to take a picture with them and wanted to know where these can be purchased.

"This is a very expensive undertaking, especially in view of the appreciation of the currency, because we brought 300 kg of cargo. But no matter what the cost and difficulties, we will continue to participate in all exhibitions, which we are invited"- said Gennady Gaguliya.

According to him, the system to participate in various exhibitions - in Serbia, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and now in Greece is not only promotes our country abroad, but enhances its image.

"Moreover, the Abkhaz exhibition of Agricultural products and Tourism Industry of the country that recently held in Sukhum, dedicated to the Russian-Abkhazian Business Forum gave me the idea to hold an international tourism exhibition in Abkhazia. I sure that many countries would agree to come to us not only to participate, but learn more about our country ", - said Gennady Gaguliya.
