The issue of opening of the Syrian Union of Artisans in Abkhazia, which is ready to present its various products in the republic, will be resolved by the end of this year, stressed the Prime Minister of Abkhazia Valery Bganba, who participates in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"The Union of Syrian Artisans asks for a place for them to open a center in our republic in order to present their products to Abkhaz consumers. There are already real progress, and I think that this year the issue will be resolved. The Syrian Union of Artisans will pioneer the Syrian economy in Abkhazia" - said Bganba.
Syria recognized the independence of Abkhazia and established diplomatic relations with it on May 29, 2018. Within the framework of the first official visit to Syria of the delegation of Abkhazia in September last year, the presidents of the two countries Raul Khazhimba and Bashar Asad signed an agreement on friendship and cooperation, the Minister of Economy of Abkhazia Adgur Ardzinba and the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria Mohammed Samir Khalil signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of assistance and promoting trade and economic cooperation.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia and the Union of Artisans of Syria signed an agreement on mutually beneficial cooperation, and in November Syrian artisans widely presented their products at the exhibition in Sukhum at the second Visit Apsny tourism forum, which was in great demand.
