Extreme tourism in Abkhazia.
One of the most picturesque places of Abkhazia - the Shakuran waterfall - has turned into a base of jumping, where locals and guests of the republic come to the pursuit of new "adrenaline" impressions.
The surroundings of the waterfall impress with its fabulous picturesqueness, and the waterfall itself falls into the center of the natural amphitheater on a high stone cone, which, as they say, does not erode, but grows and grows stronger.
The Shakuran waterfall for roupjumping was mastered in early March by the Droprope team from Vladivostok. Then the team was working on the site from Krasnodar.
Rompage jumping appeared as a kind of mountaineering. American climber Dan Osman began to jump, tied with a rope, to overcome his fear of falling from the cliff. Today, the followers of Osman make jumps from a variety of high-rise buildings, cranes, rocks, and even perform acrobatic stunts in flight.
Vladislav Konstantinov, roupjamper of the team "Droprope Vladivostok", which, together with the team "Droprope Khabarovsk", set a world record for rope jumping - 486 meters in China.
For this extreme sport, climbing equipment is used. Ropes that amortize a flying person, are fastened on two ledges of a rock. The system must be duplicated: if the first fails, the second one is connected. Ropes and carbines can withstand up to several tons per break. The amortization system follows after the jumped, and after braking the "jumper" swings like a pendulum.
Only persons who have reached the age of 18, or with permission from parents who are familiar with the list of contra-indications and the liability agreement signed on the spot before jumping jumpers are allowed to ride. In other cases, the decision to release a person in the "flight" takes the instructor.
There is also a weight limit for rope jumping: the minimum weight is 40 kilograms, the maximum weight is 100-120 kilograms.
Be sure to inform the instructor in advance about all the diseases, injuries, operations. The list of contraindications is long. It is dangerous to engage in rope jumping to people who have a problem with the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular or respiratory systems.
Active tourism in Abkhazia has limitless possibilities, said Sabina Akhba, general director of Apsny Adventure.
"Our travel agency is a bit different from the others, because we promote sports, extreme tourism, and we try to develop new directions. Because our country is rich in beautiful species that can be combined with interesting, sporting, extreme, but in order to understand how much this is relevant, how much it develops, this object was first discovered by the guys for themselves, perhaps we will move to a more ambitious level," suggested Akhba.
Selecting a nontrivial branch becomes more and more. Not only the Black Sea and sunny beaches attract tourists to Abkhazia. People come here to live in the mountains, rafting along mountain rivers, exploring caves, conquering snow-capped peaks, practicing canyoning, freeriding and so on.
