The prehistoric settlement

 The hunting camps Formed the first settlements in the lower Paleolithic on the Abkhazian land. The evidence educed from the archeological sites like Aaachktfa , Gmezta , Kalaasure Okhamkhir. Whil upper Paleolithic civilization settled  on the  coast. Also in the periods of Neolithic a permanent largest settlements were founded, and recorded the beginning of agriculture and animal husbandry and the production of ceramics in the region . It also featured the first cut megalithic civilization archaeological at the beginning of the third century BC and continued even as the Bronze Age dolmens Abkhazia , composed mainly of four major large stones and a large stone in the middle, where the weight of some of these stones came to 50 tons.

Dolmen found in the archaeological site Aichira is the best monument to an archaeological study of the prehistoric era. The late Bronze Age saw development of the bronze tools , and these tools remains as a part of Alkulcheh civilization (1200-600 BC) , which today covers most of western Georgia and part of the north-eastern Anatolia.

Abkhazia in antiquity

History of Abkhazia starts coming of the Almellitisien Greeks to coastal Kolkhis in the  fifth and sixth centuries BC . Where they built Marine colonies on the beach of the eastern Black Sea ,where Dioschorias was the most important  major trading centers with neighboring countries . It is assumed that this city named after Dioschori , the myth of the twin Castor and Bolux , also believes that the city has gradually evolved to become today Sukhumi . There was another important colonies such as Gainos , Triglitis and Batios , which was their equivalent of today's tourist towns Ochamchira , Gagra , and Pitsunda respectively .

 Peoples of this region became famous because of their diversity and many in number, It also helped having a mountain on the separation of these peoples and isolated from each other, which encouraged a large number of languages ​​and dialects, and the complexity of the ethnic nature of the area . Even the most knowledgeable historians on the region found difficult to know the people  they are conducting  research and locate them , as they provide little and limited  information about the  geographically and peoples of remote areas .

It can also be for those people  their own ethnic terms , some researchers believe that Pliny the biggest had onether name for these peoples which was Absilay from the first century at the speaking Abkhaz . There is also another conflict about the origins of the rest of the peoples of the region ( such as Henyoshi ) .Archeology rarely able to linking the remnants of material culture and names that launched them the old writers . Therefore, there is still a conflict and a few questions on this topic .

 According to the Georgian’s records  , the first inhabitants of Abkhazia and westren Georgia are Aligricion , descendants of Eros son Togarma grandson of Japheth son of Noah , who came from the land known as the Ariane - Kartli .
