I Open Karate Kyokushinkai Championship of Asia was held from April 21 to 23 in Astana
More than 600 athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Azerbaijan, Poland, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Iran, Hungary, Estonia and Abkhazia took part in the championship.
The youth team of the Republic of Abkhazia was represented by Inal Partzkhalia, Naur Ajinjal, Sergei and Ilya Docia, Alexander Amelchenko, Leon Blabbа and Shaab Tsvizhba. The trainers are Vitaliy Chitanava and Zurab Muradyan.
In the first competitive day there were battles in the age category of 12-13 years, in the second - 14-15, 16-17 years.
As a result of the competition, three sportsmen managed to win in the first bouts and compete for reaching the semifinals. Nauru Ajinjal managed to reach the semi-final, having defeated the wrestler of the national team of Kazakhstan. At the end of the semi-final and final fight Naur became the silver medalist of the championship. The coach is Vitaliy Chitanava.
The youth team of the Republic of Abkhazia in karate Kyokushinkai took part in the championship with the support of the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia on Physical Culture and Sports.
