The official Representative Office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia was officially opened in the capital of the Syrian Arab Republic – Damascus.

The opening ceremony was attended by Speaker of the People's Assembly of Abkhazia Valery Kvarchia, head of the Presidential Administration Alkhas Kvitsinia, members of the Government of Abkhazia, members of the Abkhazian Parliament, as well as numerous guests from the CCI of Syria. The event began with the anthems of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Syrian Arab Republic.

The honorary right to cut the red ribbon was granted to the Minister of Economy of Abkhazia Kristina Ozgan, the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Syria Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mertskhulava.
"The opening of the Representative Office is a new step in the implementation of the agreements reached. It is an interesting and useful event, both in terms of cooperation between the republics as a whole, and for each country individually," stated Tamila Mertskhulava.
