The article about the first memorable banknote of the Republic of Abkhazia “Vladislav Ardzinba” was published in the monthly cash circulation newsletter “Banknotes of the World: Money Circulation. Expertise. Falsifications ”(№1 / 2019). The article presents the detailed characteristics of the banknote, and also describes the complex of security elements.

In September 2018, the National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia announced the issuance of a commemorative “Vladislav Ardzinba” banknote with a par value of 500 apsar’s, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the Abkhaz people (Abkhaz-Georgian war). The banknote is made in brown-green tones, made on white cotton paper. Artists of the banknote - Batal Dzhapua, Timur Kaitan.
