15 to 18 February the delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia, headed by its president Gennady Gagulia, took part in the international tourist exhibition "Holliday World Top Gastro & Hotel".
Abkhazia was presented as a new touristic destination in the world touristic business.
The exhibition was attended by representatives of travel companies from Poland, Thailand, Sudan, Slovenia, Montenegro, Slovakia, Malta, USA, Australia, China, Indonesia, Palestine, Mexico, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Peru, Bulgaria, etc. The Abkhazian stand was among such countries such as Italy, Tunisia, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, etc.
The Georgian Embassy failed in their demand to close the Abkhazian pavilion. Instead the organizers of the exhibition provided the Abkhaz delegation a security during the days of the exhibition.
The colorful Abkhazian pavilion immediately attracted the interest of the participants and visitors of the exhibition. Many of them remembered pleasant memories of their visit to Abkhazia during the Soviet period.
The Abkhazian wine, chacha, cognac, tea, honey, ajinjuh and many other goods were provided by the individual entrepreneurs Tatiana Ardzheniya - "Akhcharakh", Eldar Shokhin - "Gifts of Abkhazia ", Kamila Kvitsinia and others.
The guests especially enjoyed by the Abkhaz ajika. The booklets about the tourist, agricultural and investment potential of the Republic of Abkhazia were quiet popular among the visitors.
Representatives of many travel agencies showed their interest to cooperate with Abkhaz tourism companies in order to develop foreign tourism.
The Russian Trade Representative in the Czech Republic, Sergei Stupar and the first secretary of the embassy Alexander Movchan visited the Abkhazian delegation at the exhibition.
The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry considers the participation in this exhibition to be very successful. Such events contribute to the image and popularization of the Republic of Abkhazia at the international level.
