The Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Abkhazia, which was represented by the Vice President of CCI RA Soner Gogua, Deputy Minister of Economy of RA Nanba Dzhansuh, Head of Tourism Department of the RA CCI Daurova Inara and several Abkhazian business owners  visited the city of Izmir, Turkey. The meeting was held with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce of Izmir. The sides made a presentation of the Republic of Abkhazia and the city of Izmir for the establishment of foreign economic relations between Turkish city and Abkhazia.

Izmir – is the third largest and one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Turkey. As a world-famous resort Izmir at the same time is known as a major international business center and as a center of cultural, historical and architectural monuments created by people. Here, a large number of international exhibitions are organized. Russia occupies a leading position in the foreign trade of the city.

The delegation visited the International Tourism Exhibition Travel Turkey Izmir 2014, which is an important event in the tourism industry in Turkey. This exhibition was visited by a delegation from Abkhazia for the first time.

There ware 867 participants from 34 countries on 10,000 square meters. Organizers note that this year's exhibition was visited by over 20 thousand people.

The purpose of this exhibition Travel Turkey Izmir 2014 is to familiarize the public with great tourism potential and diversity of Turkey, as well as innovations in the tourism sector.
