The presentation of the annual "Catalog of Enterprises of the Republic of Abkhazia-2019" was held in “Ertsakhu” restaurant, Sukhum. The presentation was attended by businessmen, representatives of the executive and legislative branches, community representatives and journalists.

And, as always, the evening was held in a festive and welcoming atmosphere to the enchanting sounds of the violin and the melodious timbre of the saxophone.

During the presentation, it was noted that every year there are more and more new enterprises, companies, industries.

The leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is grateful to all the businessmen who placed advertising of their enterprises and their products in the Catalog. This testifies to the fact that the Catalog is trusted by businessmen.

This year the Catalog of Enterprises 2019 is dedicated to youth entrepreneurship.

At the presentation, it was noted that in recent years, youth entrepreneurship began to gain serious momentum. At the same time, the range of economic interests of young people is very broad - from agriculture and processing to cultural and design projects. This suggests that young people are not in a state of idleness, but are looking for opportunities not only to earn money, but also to reveal their abilities in various fields.

That is why this year, at the proposal of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mertskhulava, it was decided to devote the Catalog to this very important topic.

Addressing the audience, Tamila Mertskhulava recalled that the idea of ​​creating the Catalog was wholeheartedly owned by the founder and first President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gennady L. Gaguliya.

She asked those present to honor Gennady L. Gaguliya’s memory with a minute of silence.

Tamila Mertskhulava noted that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry always protects the interests of entrepreneurs, promotes and consolidates their positions, both in the domestic and foreign markets. Thus, the Chamber contributes to the formation of a positive image of Abkhazia and its investment attractiveness. The publication of a catalog of enterprises is another way to support Abkhaz entrepreneurs.

- Conceiving and publishing a catalog, Gennady L. Gaguliya not only wanted to draw attention to entrepreneurship in general, but also to the fact that it is one of the most important components of the modern economy of Abkhazia. He created a very useful resource, which has become an additional source of information and advertising, and this really makes life easier for businesses, and also helps clients - immediate and future- find the company they need in a few minutes,-  mentioned in her statement Tamila Mertskhulava.

In her opinion, it is impossible to plan the further development strategy of the state, unless the young are given the opportunity to actively and comprehensively develop their potential. That is why the Chamber of Commerce and Industry promoted the unification of young entrepreneurs into a separate Association. Moreover, this year the Catalog focuses on young, energetic, enterprising people. They devoted themselves to their beloved work, took the risk of doing a difficult, responsible business called own business, using modern approaches to business and benefiting the country's economy.

- Our main goal is to involve the younger generation in state building process. In the difficult conditions of economic development, not only in Abkhazia, but throughout the world, we need to actively help young entrepreneurs, to teach them how to conduct business. To do this, first, it is necessary to improve the legal framework with the provision of various legal preferences to young people. This includes interest rate subsidies, and direct lending at low interest rates to those sectors of the economy that are of interest to our republic, and much more,- believes Tamila Mertskhulava.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry wished all entrepreneurs, especially young ones, success in their entrepreneurial activities.

A special thanks to the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry expressed to the Ministry of Taxes and Duties, as well as to the regional tax inspectorates for their assistance in gathering information in the preparation of the “Catalog of Enterprises 2019”.

Then Adgur Lushba, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Abkhazia, said that the Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues the traditions established by Gennady L Gaguliya.

- The Chamber of Commerce is a link between entrepreneurs and the state. I am particularly pleased that in this catalog you have focused on young entrepreneurs. Moreover, the Chamber, by uniting them into a separate association, assists the development of youth entrepreneurship,- said Lushba.

In conclusion, he wished the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its leadership continued success and prosperity.

On 28 June 2018, a presentation of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of Abkhazia took place, led by the young, energetic and successful in her business, Kamilla Kvitsinia. The products of her company- different varieties of Asydzbal (Abkhaz traditional cherry plum sauce) - are known not only in our republic, but also abroad. Since its establishment, the Association has been actively and successfully operating. Moreover, more dynamically developing young entrepreneurs are becoming members of the organization.

A report on the presentation of this Association and a blitz-interview with the heads of regional administrations and Sukhum city about how they evaluate the development of young entrepreneurship in their districts was presented to the participants of the event.

Continuing a long-standing tradition, the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry decided to encourage the most active young entrepreneurs. The Chamber believes that this will be for them a kind of advance for the future.
