The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia signed an agreement on cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Damascus and Syrian Exporters Federation.
On the 19th of June the meeting was held between delegations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia, Damascus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Syrian Exporters Federation in Beirut, Lebanon. The Abkhazian side was represented by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Gaguliya L. Gennady, CCI of RA President advisor Shokhina Nataliya, and CCI of RA Foreign Relations and Investments Department specialist Kortava Diana, the Syrian side was represented by the President of Damascus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bassel Hamui and Chairman of Syrian Exporters Federation Muhammad Nasser al Saya.
The range of issues concerning the trade interaction between Syria and Abkhazia were discussed at the meeting. Taking into account that currently Syria is on its rehabilitation way, the possibilities of building materials delivery from Abkhazia to Syria aroused the huge interest.
The Damascus CCI President stressed that the location of the Republic of Abkhazia is economically beneficial and when dynamic activities will be arranged it can be a so-called point for trade distribution to different countries.
The possibilities of conducting Joint Exhibitions and participation in different international events were discussed at the meeting.
The Representatives of Syria expressed their readiness and desire to pay a return visit to the Republic of Abkhazia to see the investment and economical attractiveness of the country.
At the end of the meeting the agreement on cooperation was signed between the Presidents of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Gaguliya L. Gennady, Damascus Chamber of Commerce and Industry Bassel Hamui and Chairman of Syrian Exporters Federation Muhammad Nasser al Saya.
