On the 17 of June, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia headed by the President of CCI of RA Gaguliya L.Gennadiy paid an official visit to Istanbul, Turkey and held a meeting with the consulate general of the Russian Federation in Istanbul led by Erokchov V. Aleksey –consul general.

At the meeting two sides discussed issues related to trade-economic relations between Abkhazia and Turkey. “Nowadays the turnover between Turkey and Abkhazia reaches more than 100 million US Dollars, and this number intensively grows. In general all the contacts and cooperation between the entrepreneurs of both countries are developing fast and professionally, but there are also a lot of other problems, the solution of which would promote the strengthening relationship with Turkish Business communities”-stressed the President of CCI of RA Gennadiy L. Gaguliya.

Both sides also stressed that existing agreements between Abkhazia and Russia, which gives opportunity to import goods produced in Abkhazia to Russia free of duty, which makes Abkhazia very attractive investment project for Turkish entrepreneurships and opens a huge opportunities for them.

“We are glad to cooperate with entrepreneurs of Abkhazia, express our readiness to promote the solution of business community issues. We were and will always be with Abkhazia and we are ready and will assist the solution of issues related to Abkhazia and Abkhazian nation. We hope that with mutual affords Abkhazia will reach great victories”-stressed the Consular General of the Russian Fderation in Istanbul Erkchov A.V.
