President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava and Vice-President of the Chamber Astamur Gagulia met with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of the Syrian Arab Republic Ms. Rania Khudr Ahmad in Damascus. The meeting took place in the office of the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade. It discussed issues of official registration of the CCI of RA representative office in Syria and unification of Abkhaz entrepreneurs in Business Council wishing to develop trade relations with Syrian business owners.
In order to inform the entrepreneurs of Abkhazia, the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry appealed to the deputy minister to provide information on the procedures for customs clearance and existing restrictions on the import of goods to Syria. The issues of opening of the Trade House of Abkhazia in Damascus, which will operate with the assistance of Abkhaz Chamber and the range of products that Abkhazia will supply to Syria were discussed at the meeting.
On behalf of the leadership of the ministry, Ms. Ahmad expressed her readiness to provide all kinds of support to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia.
At the end of the meeting, Tamila Mertskhulava and Astamur Gagulia presented the Deputy Minister a commemorative coin with the image of the Second President of the Republic of Abkhazia Sergey Bagapsh and invited to visit Abkhazia at any time convenient for her.
The meeting was attended by the representative of the CCI of RA in Syria Nizar Aljabban.
