The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava participated in the International Forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Union "Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan"as an honored guest.

The event took place in Kazan from May 19 to May 21, as part of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022".

“This is a good opportunity for us to discuss issues of cooperation and implementation of joint projects. The forum gives an opportunity to present economic opportunities and investment potential of our republic. Moreover, the summit is an opportunity to attract attention and call for cooperation with Abkhazia, establish friendly and economic relations with all the guests of this event,” believes the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Among the key topics of the program: entrepreneurship and investment, development of exports and the halal industry (an exhibition of this service sector was held at the summit site), youth diplomacy and much more.

The plenary session "The role of chambers of commerce and industry in the international ESG agenda" was held with the personal participation of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin.

“Participation in this event provided an opportunity to meet with foreign colleagues, discuss issues of cooperation, since Abkhazia is interested in long-term projects related to the development of the tourism industry and agriculture. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry will in every possible way contribute to building up trade and economic relations with countries friendly to Abkhazia,” noted Tamila Mertskhulava.

At a gala dinner organized for the heads of chambers and honored guests, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia congratulated Shamil Ageev, Chairman of the Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan on the upcoming anniversary and presented him with a memorable gift.
