Within the framework of participation in the Second Eurasian Women's Forum, the official meeting of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava and the President of the Union "St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry" Yuri Burchakov was held in the building of the Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of St. Petersburg. The parties discussed prospects for further cooperation between the chambers.

In the beginning, colleagues from St. Petersburg arranged a tour for Tamila Mertskhulava in the chamber, which is located in the mansion of Grand Duchess Olga Romanova.

The meeting, which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, was attended by the chairman of the Council of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vladimir Katenev.

Let us recall that in 2013, an agreement was signed on bilateral cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of the Republic of Abkhazia and St. Petersburg. The agreement was signed by the first president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady Gaguliya and at that time the president of the Union of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Vladimir Katenev.

Tamila Mertskhulava noted that the turnover of the Republic of Abkhazia with St. Petersburg increases every year and for the first half of 2018 amounted to $ 3,902,188. The following groups of goods are exported to St. Petersburg from Abkhazia: alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, natural honey, citrus fruits - fresh and dried, vegetables and other vegetable products.

In turn, St. Petersburg imports cheese and cottage cheese, wheat flour, meat products, confectionery products, plastic products for transportation or packing of goods, metalware, cisterns, cans, fishing tackles and much more to Abkhazia.

In an interview with Tamila Mertskhulava, Vladimir Katenev and Yury Burchakov expressed readiness to assist the CCI and the business community of Abkhazia in establishing and expanding cooperation.

Vladimir Katenev also confirmed his participation in the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia and Independence Day, which will be held on September 30, this year.

At the end of the official part of the meeting, the parties exchanged gifts.

During the trip, Tamila Mertskhulava is accompanied by the head of the tourism department Inara Daurova.
