The Second Tourist Forum “VISIT APSNY” will be held in Sukhum
The Second Tourist Forum “VISIT APSNY” will be held in Sukhum from 19 to 20 November 2018.
The initiative for holding the conference came from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia and the NP “Abkhaz Union of Tourism”, with the support of the Ministry of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The business program of the forum includes a plenary session, panel, thematic and expert sessions, as well as presentations of tourism projects.
The purpose of the forum is to develop effective solutions for the development of tourism in the Republic for the upcoming 2019.
Prior to this event, a press conference of the head of the Tourism Department of the CCI of RA Inara Daurova and Chairman of the NP “Abkhaz Tourism Union” Anna Kalyagina was held in the conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for representatives of the Abkhaz Mass Media.
Inara Daurova reminded that the first tourist forum “VISIT APSNY” was held in March 2018.
- This large-scale event had a public response and demonstrated the interest and willingness of the tourist industry of the Republic in developing business cooperation, expanding business contacts and signing new contracts. Representing the interests of our entrepreneurs, we decided to hold the Second Tourism Forum, whose work will be aimed directly at addressing topical issues of tourism and developing new tourist excursion routes. We want to show guests that we have every opportunity to open new routes, such as gastronomic, agro and wine, citrus picking tours, tea, and even possibly tobacco. Development and improvement of the quality of the provided services, exchange of experience in the field of tourism, international cooperation, promotion of tourism products of the Republic of Abkhazia and, of course, summing up the results of the 2018 resort season - all this will be demonstrated at the Second Tourism Forum "VISIT APSNY", - said Inara Daurova.
She also noted that the event will include an exhibition of the leading enterprises of the tourism industry of Abkhazia - various accommodation facilities, excursion companies, a fair-sale of products of leading manufacturers of RA.
She recalled that after mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations, in early September an official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Syrian Arab Republic headed by RA President Raul Khadjimba took place. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry was not only part of the delegation, but also participated in the 60th International Damascus Fair. Within the framework of this visit, at the initiative of the Union of SAR Craftsmen, an agreement on cooperation between the Union of SAR Craftsmen and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia was signed. At the same time, the leadership of the Union of SAR Craftsmen appealed to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mertskhulava with a request to assist in organizing a specialized exhibition and sale of specialized products of the members of the Union and the opening of the Syrian Trade House in Abkhazia.
- This is a very significant event for our Republic. It is no secret what efforts were made by the first President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady L. Gaguliya in establishing relations between Syria and Abkhazia. Last year we participated in the international universal fair in Damascus and signed an agreement between two chambers. Gennady L. Gaguliya really wanted to implement this project. This year, during the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia to the SAR, an agreement was signed between the Union of SAR Craftsmen and the RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Within the framework of that meeting, the host country appealed to the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia to organize a specialized exhibition - a fair for the presentation of the products of artisans in Abkhazia. And so we managed to implement a project that is so important and significant for our country. The delegation of Syria will consist of 19 people. It will be headed by the chairman of the Union of SAR Craftsmen”,- emphasized Inara Daurova.
She noted that Syrians will present souvenirs with oriental ornaments to the fair, including brass, hand-made glass, clothes, shoes, Arabian sweets, etc. The exhibition of products of members of the Union of SAR Craftsmen will last until November 21.
Taking advantage of the occasion, Inara Daurova appealed to all interested citizens of Abkhazia with a proposal to attend the forum, which will begin on November 19 at 10:00 in the Inter-Sukhum hotel and will last until November 20.
The panel session will discuss issues on the topic “Security in Tourism”, and it will be divided into three categories: insurance in tourism, IT security, and the role of banks in the tourism sector of the economy. On the second day, a delegation of the Republic of Crimea will take part in the forum.
In addition, the forum participants will enjoy several interesting expert sessions and a discussion of the role of classification of hotels and tourist accommodation.
Within the framework of mutual recognition and establishment of diplomatic relations with the Syrian Arab Republic and a signed agreement between the CCI of RA and the “Crafts Union of the SAR”, the exhibition and sale of products of the "Crafts Union of the SAR " members will be held for the first time .
The work of the Second Tourism Forum will focus on the following : the organization of result-based discussion platforms on topical issues of tourism development, new areas for the development and improvement the quality of service delivery; exchange of experience in the tourist industry; development of international cooperation in the field of tourism; promotion of tourist products of the Republic of Abkhazia; summing up the resort season 2018.
The purpose of this forum is to develop effective solutions in the field of tourism development in the Republic of Abkhazia for the upcoming 2019.
The exhibition of the leading enterprises of the tourism industry of Abkhazia and a fair-sale of the leading manufacturers’ products of the RA will be held within the framework of the forum “VISIT APSNY”.
