The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia shared information on the national competition in field of business, which will be held in October 2018. She stressed that the initiative to hold the abovementioned competition belongs to the former President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Gennady L. Gaguliya in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy. The competition results will be announced within the framework of the VIII Abkhaz-Russian Business Forum.
She noted that the main goal we pursue by holding this competition is “paying a close attention from the State to local entrepreneurs who make a huge contribution to the development of the economy of the Republic”.
“This year the competition has acquired the status of annual and national. In comparison with previous year, the list of participants was extended - 60 applications were submitted for participation in the competition. After the meeting, the organizing committee selected 23 contestants, three or four enterprises for different nominations” - said the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava.
This year, at the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia, one more additional nomination was added to the main list - “Social Responsibility and Charitable Activities of Large Business”.
Tamila Mertskhulava stressed that each nomination has its own specific selection criteria.
First of all, it focuses on the contribution to budgeting, volume of services provided to them, taking into account the transparency of running a business, the level of wages etc.
“All the contestants were sent special questionnaires, which were drafted by the CCI of RA in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy, it takes into account different criteria: the volume of manufactured, exported products, the volume of provided services, the transparency of business, the level of wages and the number of jobs”,- added the President of the Chamber.
“All enterprises that participate in the competition and those that did not reach the final were created in different economic conditions, independently or with the support of the state. But, despite the difficulties, they are functioning now, developing, expanding and the number of enterprises is increasing every year. Moreover, 85% of the contestants are members of the CCI. At the same time, many of them are included in the register of reliable partners, and this is a very important and significant factor for us”, - emphasized Tamila Mertskhulava.
She stressed that taking into account the fact that foreign partners will take part in the business forum, it will also be a good promotion for us,-said Tamila Mertskhulava.
