The chief of the expertise and evaluation department of the CCI RA Mrs. Maya Adzhba on the quality and its role in modern society.
The modern market economy presents a fundamentally different requirements for quality products. Today, the ability to control the quality prevails over human life, wealth of the nation and prestige of the state. Quality is understood as a system of measures in providing good quality products to gain consumer’s confidence. The development of the country's dynamic growth is impossible without quality indicators. Controlling of the quality of goods can guarantee the population of Abkhazia a high level of quality of life. The whole complex of measures in this direction and pursues social and economic goals.
The food products which are designed for the whole sale must contain a sufficient amount of nutrients and meet the physiological needs of a human, with the necessary materials and energy, as well as meet the requirements normally imposed on food products, in terms of organoleptic, physico-chemical and other indicators.
An important role should be given to fighting a counterfeit and fake products. A mechanism to ensure quality control of imported products is needed. Not necessarily, the products which are imported from Russia, Turkey or smuggled from Georgia, meet the standard requirements.
Why does the buyer chooses that and not the other product? What are the criteria that guides the consumer? How to persuade him or her to choose a particular product? Such questions should play an important role in the whole market economy of Abkhazia, as well as the fundamental question of what products will be produced in the country. The answers to these questions are also related to competitiveness.
To solve the problem of improving product quality is possible if the quality of all types of products is significantly improved, expanding the range and increasing the production of new types of products that meet modern requirements. Need to implement comprehensive quality management system where the buyer does not just made a single purchase, but rather after once tasted, becomes a regular customer. This could be also one of the main ways to the successful promotion of domestic goods in domestic and foreign markets.
To make domestic products known outside of Abkhazia, it is necessary to concentrate primarily on the distinguishing characteristics of the product. This, for example, are the Abkhazian environmentally friendly or organic food products, such as: mineral waters of Abkhazia, which, by the way, are far more competitive with the international world-known brands as well as wine, honey, adjika(spice) and others.
By the way, the Abkhazian Adjika "Amtsa", produced by Ltd "Abhazprodukt" was awarded a Gold medal at the International Exhibition World Food Moscow -2011 («World Food") which was held in Moscow and considered as a landmark event in the grocery market in Russia and abroad.
In recent years, Russian enterprises have revived the practice of assigning Russian Quality Mark to goods they produce. From the state perspective, it is a moral incentive to create the conditions for competitive enterprises striving to produce quality products and implement a quality system. For businesses it is a market leverage, by using which, they can actually promote their products.
With the goal to create a positive image of the producers of Abkhazia, to improve the quality of manufactured goods, and make local products attractive for the population of Abkhazia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia has prepared a draft Regulation on assigning a goods’ quality label "The Abkhazian quality." This will create a mechanism for identifying the best products and, accordingly, their position in the market. It will also help to direct the company to the quality patterns and to provide an opportunity to improve their products’ quality.
