Abkhaz brand “NaalaMar”
“NaalaMar” brand was founded in December 2012 by young and up-and-coming designer Naala Kvarchiya whose ideas and projects are enrapture and inspire. Since the foundation she had conducted her own collections for four times, each of which has passed on hurray!
Passion for creativity began to emerge her pretty early. At 7 years she started attending art classes, but because of her nonage is not particularly deepened in the process and was soon abandoned art school. Awareness of her real purpose in life came to her much later in high school. Naala realized that in addition, as in the creative sphere she could not find anywhere else, and that this point can be called the beginning of her career. After school she went to Textile University named after Kosygin at the Faculty of Applied Art in Moscow, attended this there 4 years, and then continued her studies at the Fashion Institute Marangoni in Milan.
On the creation of the collection has pushed her clear understanding of what she needs to move on and apply knowledge and vision of fashion in real life.
One glance at a particular tissue in her mind there may be images that she wants to convey with it. It is an indivisible whole.
She always pays special attention to the choice of material, because for Naala is very important quality, naturalness and texture of fabric.
In the development of future products, the designer must be able to correctly pick a fabric that will not spoil the idea and the original shape of the model.
“At first glance, the profession of the designer may seem easy but I assure you it is not. If you decided to devote your life to this profession, then be prepared for heavy, daily work.
Do not think that the presence of talent is enough, and this, by the way, applies to any sphere, not just design.
The hardest part for me in this work is to communicate with customers. Each person is different, and one of the main skills of my profession is the ability to find common language with people. But I hope I do as long as possible”-said Naala.
The question about the difference between education in Russia and in Italy, and what is missing in Russian education costume design, she said so: “They are carried out by the two completely different methods. If you are trying to drive Russia into some kind of framework, rules and make the whole emphasis on the theoretical side of the subject, that in Italy everything is exactly the opposite. Preference is given to it in practice, and it - just what I lacked in the Russian university. Flights of fantasy and individualism there only encouraged. Of course Russian school has given me a good base line for which I am grateful. But the attitude of teachers of Marangoni who evaluate you not as an ordinary student, but as a person who is capable of much gave the emotional nourishment and charged that I lacked before.
Generally, with Italy, I connected a lot of warm memories and whenever possible I try to go back, if only for a few days. This is an important experience, which gave me a lot of new emotions, friends, and liberalize me.”
Naala opened her own drapery “Tissura” in Sukhum and she spoke about the role of tissue in the reflection of the ideas generated by the model and even the whole collection.
“One glance at a particular tissue in my mind there may be images that I want to convey with it. It is an indivisible whole.
I always pay special attention to the choice of material, because for me it is very important quality, naturalness and texture of fabric.
In the development of future products, the designer must be able to correctly pick a fabric that will not spoil the idea and the original shape of the model”-explained Naala.
