CCI PRESIDENT MEETS RUSSIA TRADE REPRESENTATIVE IN ABKHAZIA

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava met Russian Trade representative in Abkhazia Zalina Kobesova at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The topic of the discussion were bilateral cooperation and the support of business circles.
“For many years the CCI has been assisting trade, economic and missions of the Russian business community in Abkhazia. Moreover we stand for expanding trade and economic relations with the Russian Federation and are promoting comprehensive support in promoting the export of goods and services to the territory of Abkhazia” said Tamila Mertskhulava.
She also assured the trade representative that both the government of the Republic of Abkhazia and the business community itself were interested in joint industry development projects and other areas.
“The chamber plans to create open areas where in accordance with entrepreneurs, state and other institutions the information on what goods and services we need will be accessible ,” the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry concluded.
In turn Zalina Kobesova highly appreciated the work of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia, and noted that the main task of the Trade Representation was the development of trade and economic relations aimed at expanding contacts between the Russian and Abkhazian business communities as well as trade turnover increase.
“There are several possibilities for our mutual cooperation. Precisely the search of partners for Russian business in Abkhazia, participation in events in Russia, the expand of cooperation with its regions as well as informing the business community of Abkhazia about new opportunities in the sphere of business and other areas", marked the Trade representative.
On the behalf of Abkhazian business community Tamila Mertskhulava asked Zalina Kobesova to aid the promotion of Abkhazian products in Russian regional markets especially where little was known about it. She also asked to help finding Russian entrepreneurs interested in projects on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia.
“I am we will preserve the friendly relation between the CCI and the Trade Representation strengthening our mutual interests and promoting them,” the president of the CCI stated.
As the result the parties agreed to determine a joint work plan and implement mutual projects.
