Presentation of the Republic of Abkhazia in Brussels

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia, headed by its president Gennady Gagulia, was on a business visit in Belgium. The presentation of the Republic of Abkhazia was held on the in Brussels on December 12.

The representation of the CCI of RA was registered and officially opened a few years ago, the main purpose of which is popularization of the RA, assisting in the development of trade and economic relations and tourism, and attracting investments to Abkhazia.
The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Gagulia opened the evening dedicated to Abkhazia,with a welcoming speech at the CCI office.

The film about Abkhazia was presented at the event as well as booklets about history, culture, tourism, investment potential of Abkhazia both in French and English languages.

Guests of the evening showed their great interest in Abkhazia. The participants of the event  had an opportunity to try Abkhazian products: Ajinjuh, wine, chacha and cognac.

More than 60 people were invited to the event. Among the guests of honor were the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium Anatoly Gorshkov, the Counselor-Ambassador of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium Dmitry Borodin, the representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation in the Kingdom of Belgium Elena Medvedeva, the head and representatives of the UNPO, representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Belgian business community, representatives of the Abkhazian Diaspora led by its leader Gursan Ashuba and many others. A huge assistance in organizing and conducting the evening was provided by the staff of the UNPO.

The Abkhaz delegation consisted of the president of the CCI of RA Gennady Gagulia, vice-president of the CCI Tamila Mertskhulava, the head of the department for Foreign relations and investments of the Chamber Kama Tsvizhba.

The representation of the CCI of RA in Brussels will contribute to the interest of Belgian citizens to our Republic and  promote the development of tourism.
