RUSSIAN PARLIAMENTARIANS VISITED THE CEMETERY OF THE EX-PRIME MINISTER OF ABKHAZIA GENNADY GAGULIYA

The delegation of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation arrived to Abkhazia to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia.

On the way to Sukhum members of the delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation asked their Abkhaz colleagues to visit the cemetery of the former Prime Minister of RA Gennady L. Gaguliya, who was buried in the family cemetery in Lykhny village, Gudauta district.

Within the framework of the participation of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mertskhulava in the Second Eurasian Women's Forum, which took place recently in St. Petersburg, she officially met her colleague - a member of the State Duma Committee on the Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots (UR), Chairman of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Council Vladimir Katenev. That was when Vladimir Katenev asked to accompany him and the members of the delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation to the cemetery of Gennady Gaguliya.

According to the agreement, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tamila Mertskhulava joined the guests in Gudauta.

The deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation laid flowers on the grave of Gennady Gaguliya and lit commemorative candles.

- I will always remember this extraordinarily wise, bright and kind-hearted human soul. I am proud that I knew him personally and had the opportunity to communicate with him. May his soul rest in peace”,-said Vladimir Katenev.
