TAMILA MERTSKHULAVA HELD A MEETING WITH ADVISOR TO THE MINISTER OF AGRICULTURE OF DAGESTAN

President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia Tamila Mertskhulava held a meeting with Mikhail Losev-Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan, head of expert department for agriculture and food projects in Dagestan, as well as with a representative of Scientific and Production Center “Agrokhiminvest” Boris Mikelba.

Mikhail Losev noted that the Ministry of Agriculture of Dagestan, having familiarized himself with the position of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia regarding the development of agriculture, shares the opinion of the President of the Chamber that this direction can become the locomotive of the republic's economy.

He also stressed that he had arrived to Abkhazia on the assignment of the ministry. His department is ready for cooperation in attracting investors to Abkhazia for the implementation of agricultural projects. It is necessary to create a road map of the Republic of Abkhazia and submit projects, including the creation of processing mini-productions necessary for the republic.

He also expressed his readiness to sign contracts under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry with Abkhaz entrepreneurs for the supply of lamb, rice and cabbage to Abkhazia.

It was about the exchange of experience between specialists in the agricultural sector with the involvement of agronomists, soil scientists, agricultural technicians, etc.

In turn, Tamila Mertskhulava suggested organizing counter deliveries of products of Abkhaz producers, in particular citrus fruits, nuts and other commodity items. She expressed her readiness to receive business delegations from Dagestan, including the CCI site.

"We are ready to assist you in obtaining information about agricultural producers in Abkhazia and what products are exported outside the republic. The Chamber is ready to cooperate on mutually beneficial terms for both parties," stressed Tamila Mertskhulava.
