THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY OF ABKHAZIA STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE COUNCIL OF ARAB ECONOMIC UNITY

Tamila Mertskhulava, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia took part as a guest of honor in the 58th meeting of specialized Arab Federations operating within the framework of the Council of Arab Economic Unity. The meeting was held in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting was attended by Secretary General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity Mohammadi Ahmed Al-Nai, Secretary General of the League of Arab States Surur Al-Jarman, representatives of Arab federations of 19 countries such as Bahrain, Syria, Tunisia, Kuwait, Sudan, Egypt, Lebanon, UAE, Jordan, Yemen, etc.

The President of CCI of RA participated in the meeting within the framework of the Memorandum between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Abkhazia and the Arab Union for Productive Families, Handicrafts, and Traditional Industries signed in Sukhum.

"Today, Arab countries are actively developing, achieving tangible results in trade and finance, innovation and scientific and applied research. Abkhazia is quite an attractive country for investment and creates all the conditions for this. At the same time the state pursues a policy aimed at international cooperation and integration into the world economic community. Our republic is open to business cooperation and is interested not only in strengthening established ties but also in finding new partners," Tamila Mertskhulava said.

She also recalled that representatives of the numerous Abkhazian diaspora live today on the territory of Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey and other states.

After the meeting, Tamila Mertshulava answered questions from members of Arab federations who were actively interested in Abkhazia.
