The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia, headed by President Gennady Gaguliya, takes part in the 59th Damascus International Fair (Syrian Arab Republic).

The participation of the Abkhaz delegation in the exhibition became possible due to the long negotiations of the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia with its organizers. As a result, an official invitation was received from the Union of Exporters of Syria, with which the CCI of Abkhazia signed the Cooperation Agreement in 2014.

Despite the fact that fighting is continuing in Syria, it was decided to hold an exhibition for the first time in five years at the international level. According to its organizers, this will become an indicator of the country's desire to develop a peaceful life and a desire to develop friendly and trade relations with foreign countries.

27 countries are participating in the exhibition, including Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Venezuela, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, China, North Korea, Cuba, Lebanon, Palestine, Russia, Sudan, Czech Republic, South Africa and etc.

The Abkhazian pavilion presents materials on the traditions and culture of the Abkhaz people, on the agricultural and tourism sectors of the country's investment potential.

Products of domestic producers are of great interest to all visitors, especially wine products. The booklets of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Abkhazia in Arabic are specially in demand.
